Pastor Adrian grew up on a dairy and chicken farm near Bristol, SD. Priscilla grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch near Belle Creek, MT. They met while Adrian was pastoring in Belle Fourche, SD and were married on August 31, 1990 at Broadus, MT.
Adrian and Priscilla have pastored in Belle Fourche, SD, Vale, SD, Huron, SD, Johnson Corners, ND, and now in Redfield, SD.
Adrian never remembers a time when he didn’t sense a call to ministry. In fact, he resisted committing his life to Christ for many years because he knew that if he did that, he would also need to answer the call to ministry. The issue was settled at the altar of his home church during Christmas of his senior year of high school.
He attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK and then Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY.
While on a seminary mission trip to India in 1988 to figure out if God was calling Adrian to be a missionary instead of a pastor, he witnessed a missionary who lacked a pastor’s heart. On the long flight home, God clarified his call, not to be a missionary with a pastor’s heart, but to be a pastor with a missionary’s heart.
Among the various aspects of ministry, it is preaching the Word of God that most inspires Adrian’s passion. II Timothy 4:2 says, “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 inspires something you’ll hear Adrian say if you hang around him long enough: “The best thing you can do with your life is trust it to God and see what He does with it.”
