Why does our church exist
To love God
To love People
To love Redfield
The first and greatest commandment is to “love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength” (Matthew 22:37). We can love God because “He first loved us” (I John 4:19).
Our love for God is lived out in worship and in obedience to Him (John 14:15).
The second greatest commandment is to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). Jesus said, “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another” (John 13:34).
Our love for people is lived out in compassionate service, encouraging words, the ministry of presence, generosity, and sharing the gospel.
Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power from the Holy Spirit to be His “witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).
Redfield is our Jerusalem. Our love and our witness for the world must start at home and then spread out across our nation and the world.
